Weather Situation

A ridge of high pressure extends across Victoria, and is expected to continue into Thursday, as the high centre to the south of the Bight is forecast to move eastwards across Tasmania on Thursday. A trough is forecast to extend from NSW into the northeast of Victoria at times during Wednesday and Thursday, before a more significant trough is forecast to move across the far west on Friday then over the remainder of the state on Saturday. A cold front in expected to move through Bass Strait during Sunday with increasing south to southwesterly flow over the state as a secondary high pressure ridge extends over from the west.
