- A very strong high pressure centre lies over Tasmania and will weaken a little during the day before slowly moving over the Tasman Sea on Thursday and Friday. A northwesterly airstream will then develop over Tasmania later Friday and during Saturday as a series of cold fronts slowly approach from the west. The first front is expected to reach Tasmania later Saturday.
