A cold front will clear in the east during Tuesday evening before a ridge of high pressure will begin to develop from the west on Wednesday. This ridge will persist over the coming days until a trough develops west of Bass Strait late Friday. This trough will extend over the northwest early Saturday and is expected to cross Tasmania by the evening.
