A ridge of high pressure to the north of Tasmania, directs a westerly flow over the state on Tuesday. A low pressure system is forecast to move through Bass Strait during Wednesday, with a strong southwesterly flow to develop behind it on Thursday, persisting during Friday. A high pressure system is then expected to approach northwest Tasmania by Friday evening.
