A cold southerly airstream over Tasmania gradually eases as a high pressure ridge moves over the state from the west. The high centre will move over Tasmania on Tuesday, with the high centre expected to consolidate out to the east by Wednesday evening and remain over the southern Tasman Sea through Thursday. A trough is forecast to approach and cross Tasmania from the west during Friday.
