A cold front is expected to cross Tasmania this evening, before a ridge of high pressure approaches from the west, with a southwesterly flow establishing itself over the state. The high pressure centre will move over Victoria on Friday, directing the flow over Tasmania westerly, before it moves into the Tasman Sea on Saturday. The flow will tend northwesterly behind the high.
