A ridge to the north of Tasmania will move away to the northeast today, shifting winds northwesterly across the state ahead of an approaching cold front that will cross Wednesday morning. A high will build over the Bight later on Wednesday and direct a ridge across Tasmania through Thursday. Another cold front is expected to cross Tasmania on Friday morning, bringing a colder southerly stream.
