Weather Situation

A near-stationary high-pressure system over the Tasman Sea extends a ridge across Tasmania, directing a mostly west to northwesterly flow over the State until the end of the week. A cold front is approaching from the west, and is expected to weaken before clipping the south of the State during Sunday night. The ridge becomes reestablished across Tasmania on Monday. Northwesterly winds freshening on Tuesday ahead of another approaching cold front that is expected to again clip southern Tasmania late Tuesday and early Wednesday.
