- A cold front is crossing Tasmania from the west, expected to clear to the east of the state by early Thursday morning. A high pressure system is forecast to move over waters south of the Bight and extend a ridge over Tasmania into Thursday. The high centre is expected to move eastwards over Tasmania, to be over the Tasman Sea by Friday, directing a northeasterly stream over Tasmania into Saturday. A trough approaches the west of Tasmania during Saturday, forecast to cross the state overnight into Sunday, as a new high pressure ridge extends over Tasmania from the west.
