A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea directs a northwesterly flow over the state and it will strengthen on Wednesday. A cold front will cross Tasmania on Thursday, with a westerly flow developing in its wake and persist initially on Friday. Flow tends northwesterly later Friday ahead of an approaching cold front expected to move over the state on Saturday.
