A ridge of high pressure slowly crosses Tasmania today, bringing mostly settled weather to the state. The high is then forecast to move to the east of Tasmania late today as a cold front approaches from the west during Saturday, and crosses over the west later Sunday. A low pressure centre is expected to develop on the front to the northwest of Tasmania later Sunday and during Monday, directing a trough over the state on Monday.
