A ridge of high pressure system to the west is directing a light cool southerly stream across the state, with the high slowly approaching Tasmania during today. The high will move over Bass Strait during Thursday before moving out to the east on Friday. A northerly stream is expected to develop on Saturday and strengthen on Sunday ahead of a cold front expected early next week.
