A ridge of high pressure is expected to extend over Tasmania by tomorrow evening, with the high centre to move just to the north of the state on Wednesday. The high is forecast to move east over the Tasman Sea during Thursday as a strong cold front builds south of the Bight, and moves over Tasmania on Friday.
