A very strong high pressure centre lies over Tasmania and will persist into tomorrow, with a weak trough to pass close to the southeast during today. The high is expected to weaken a little but remain in place on Wednesday before slowly moving over the Tasman Sea on Thursday and Friday as a series of cold fronts slowly approach from the west.
