A high over the Bight directs a cold southwesterly wind over Tasmania. The high is expected to move over Victoria on Thursday. Strong and gusty northwesterly winds are forecast on Friday as a deep low pressure system develops well to the south. A weak ridge is forecast to extend over the state on Saturday, before a cold front crosses the state on Sunday.
