- A ridge of high pressure is expected to develop over southeastern parts of the mainland today, maintaining a westerly flow over Tasmania until the ridge moves over the state on Thursday. The ridge is forecast to move eastwards over the Tasman Sea, as a cold front approaches and crosses from the west late Friday, followed by a secondary high pressure system moving over the state on Saturday. A cold front is expected to move over Tasmania during Sunday afternoon.
