A ridge of high pressure extends over Tasmania. A low pressure system and associated trough is deepening over Victoria, directing a southeasterly flow over the Bass Strait. The low is forecast to move near the northeast of Tasmania on Saturday, before moving away to the east from Sunday. A cold front will approach from the west on Monday, directing a west to northwesterly flow over Tasmania before crossing the state on Tuesday.
