A weak cold front is crossing Tasmania today, ahead of a high pressure system approaching from the west. On Monday, that ridge of high pressure is expected to extend over Tasmania from a high centred well to the south of the Bight. The high centre is forecast to move northwards over mainland Australia on Tuesday, maintaining a ridge to its south over Tasmania.
