A cold front approaches the state from the west today, crossing Tasmania overnight. A southwesterly flow is expected to develop over Tasmania from Tuesday, as a high in the Bight is forecast to extend a ridge over the state on Wednesday. Flow is expected to turn westerly Thursday as the high moves over Victoria. Strong northwesterly winds are expected on Friday ahead of an approaching trough.
