A westerly stream persists over Tasmania as a ridge of high pressure extends over the north this evening. The high centre will slowly approach the state on Wednesday, as a weak trough brushes the far south. The high is expected to move over Tasmania on Thursday and slowly away to the east during Friday. A cold front is then forecast to cross the state during Saturday.
