A high pressure system south of the Bight will build and begin to extend a ridge to the north of Tasmania from late Friday into the weekend. The high pressure centre is expected to track well north of Tasmania on Monday, then move into the Tasman Sea with a strong cold front approaching from the west, crossing Tasmania on Tuesday.
