A high pressure system lies to the south of Tasmania, with a low over Bass Strait to the north of Tasmania. The low will weaken about northern Tasmania during Thursday morning, with the ridge to move further to the south of the state. A narrow ridge will move over Tasmania during Friday, with a cold front expected to cross the state on Saturday morning and an associated low to move to the south of Tasmania during Sunday.
