A weakening trough extends over southeastern parts of the state ahead of a ridge of high pressure that briefly passes to the south this afternoon. A broad trough is then forecast to extend down over the state from the mainland on Sunday. The trough is expected to clear to the east on Monday, with another high pressure system forecast to move over the state by Tuesday.
