- A high over the central parts of the Bight directs a cold southwesterly wind over Tasmania. The high is expected to extend a ridge over the state from Wednesday as it moves toward western Victoria, and over central Victoria on Thursday. Strong and gusty northwesterly winds are expected on Friday as a deep low pressure system develops well to the south. A weak ridge is forecast to move over the state on Saturday.
