- A trough lingers off the northeast coast during Thursday as a ridge of high pressure extends over Tasmania from the west. The trough is expected to slowly move eastwards on Friday, as a cold front approaches the west coast before crossing the state early Saturday. Another trough crosses from the west during Saturday evening. A high pressure system will move to a position over waters south of the Bight on Sunday and will extend a ridge over Tasmania into next week.
