Weather Situation
A near-stationary high-pressure system over the Tasman Sea extends a ridge across Tasmania. A northwesterly airstream has developed across the state ahead of a cold front approaching from the west. The front is expected to slow and weaken, crossing as a weak trough this afternoon, before the ridge re-establishes on Monday. Freshening northwesterly winds on Tuesday ahead of an approaching cold front, expected to move over Tasmania late Tuesday and early Wednesday.
