- Weather Situation
- A high pressure centre lies to the east of Tasmania and extends a ridge over southeastern Australia. The high will move away to the east this evening and direct a northerly airstream over the state. The airstream will then strengthen during Saturday as a series of cold fronts slowly approach from the west. The first front is forecast to cross Tasmania late Saturday, with a fresh westerly airstream to follow during Sunday. A second cold front embedded in the strong westerly flow is expected to cross during Monday, bringing a much colder airstream to the state. Another cold front is then expected cross during Wednesday, bringing a fresh southwesterly airstream to the state.
