Weather Situation
A cold front crossing the state today will clear to the east into the Tasman Sea, followed by a ridge of high pressure which is forecast to extend southwards over Tasmania from a high centred over mainland Australia on Saturday. A northwesterly airstream is expected to develop during Saturday afternoon, ahead of a stronger cold front forecast to cross the state during Sunday afternoon and evening. A ridge over mainland Australia is expected to maintain a westerly flow over the state on Monday, with weak embedded troughs or fronts moving in from the west at times.
