A high pressure system centred over Victoria maintains a westerly flow over Tasmania. The high is forecast to move east over the Tasman Sea by this evening. Strengthening northwesterly flow is expected during Thursday ahead of an approaching cold front. The front is expected to cross the state from the west later in the day. A trough is expected to pass over Tasmania during Friday, followed by a high pressure ridge developing over the state during Saturday.
