A high pressure system over waters to the south of the Bight extends a ridge over Tasmania today. The high centre is expected to move eastwards over the state, to the Tasman Sea by Friday, directing a northeasterly stream over Tasmania into Saturday. A trough approaches the west of Tasmania during Saturday, forecast to cross the state overnight into Sunday. A new high pressure system is expected to move in from the west on Sunday and move over the state on Monday.
