- A high pressure system over eastern Tasmania is expected to move out further into the Tasman Sea today as a weak trough is also forecast to approach and cross the west coast today. The weakened ridge is expected to persist over much of Tasmania on Tuesday. A cold front is forecast to approach and cross Tasmania from the west on Wednesday, followed by a ridge of high pressure extending from a high centred well to the west of the state on Thursday.
