A near-stationary high-pressure system over the Tasman Sea extends a ridge across Tasmania, directing a mostly west to northwesterly flow over the State until the end of the week. A weak cold front moves away into the Tasman as a ridge becomes reestablished across Tasmania today. Northwesterly winds freshening on Tuesday ahead of another approaching cold front that is expected to again clip southern Tasmania late Tuesday and early Wednesday.
