- A high pressure centre is to the east of Tasmania over the Tasman Sea ahead of a cold front forecast to approach from the west today, crossing the state during the afternoon. A ridge of high pressure is expected to develop over southeastern parts of the mainland on Wednesday, maintaining a westerly flow over Tasmania, until the ridge moves over Tasmania on Thursday, forecast to move eastwards over the Tasman Sea by Friday.
