Weather Situation

A high pressure system centred to the northeast of Tasmania extends a ridge over the state and is forecast to continue moving further east in coming days. Northerly flow is expected to build over Tasmania today ahead of an approaching trough, forecast to cross Wednesday morning. A broad trough is forecast to cross the state during Thursday as a cold front approaches from the west, crossing Friday evening. A ridge of high pressure is then expected to approach Tasmania from the west during Friday.
