A trough is forecast to extend over the northeast of the state from the mainland today, as a cold front clips the south of the state. A high pressure ridge is expected to extend over Tasmania from the west on Wednesday, with the high centre forecast to move over the state on Thursday and Friday. The high is projected to remain stationary just off the east coast on Saturday, bringing northeasterly winds over the state.
