A low sits to the northeast of Tasmania and is slowly moving east into the Tasman Sea. A weak ridge is expected to cross over the state during Tuesday before a cold front arrives early Wednesday morning. A high is then forecast to move over the mainland directing a westerly flow over Tasmania on Thursday and persisting into Friday.
