A weak trough is expected to approach Tasmania from the west today and cross during Tuesday, bringing a north to northwesterly airstream to the state. Winds tend more northerly on Wednesday as a stronger trough approaches from the west, crossing Tasmania from late Wednesday. A weakening low is expected to move from western Bass Strait to the east Friday morning before a cold front follows in the afternoon.
