A strong and gusty westerly airstream prevails, with a cold front embedded in the flow crossing Tasmania today, bringing much colder conditions to the state. Another weaker cold front is then expected to cross during Wednesday, bringing fresh southwesterly winds. A high pressure ridge will develop over Tasmania on Thursday, directing west to northwesterly flow.
