A high pressure centre over the Tasman Sea is directing a northwesterly flow over Tasmania. A weak trough is positioned over the west of the state. A strong cold front is forecast to move over the state from the west late Wednesday and another cold front follows on Thursday, bringing strong west to southwesterly winds across the state.
