A ridge of high pressure will develop in the wake of a trough that is now in the Tasman Sea today. This ridge will persist early next week with a weak trough developing to the north east in Bass Strait over Tuesday. This trough will linger northeast of Flinders Island on Wednesday leading to a broad area of low pressure over the north.
