Weather Situation

A high pressure centre lies close to the east of Tasmania and is expected to move eastwards over the Tasman Sea later Sunday, directing a warmer northeasterly airstream over the state. A weak trough is expected to approach Tasmania from the west on Monday and cross during Tuesday, bringing a north to northwesterly airstream to the state. The airstream will then tend more northerly on Wednesday as a stronger trough approaches from the west, crossing Tasmania from late Wednesday. A cold front follow later Thursday, connected to a deep low pressure centre to the west of Tasmania.
