- A west to northwesterly airstream will strengthen ahead of a strong cold front expected to cross Tasmania early Thursday. Vigorous west to southwesterly flow will follow in the wake of the front, easing through Friday before a low pressure system approaches from the west early Saturday. This low is expected to cross southern Tasmania on Saturday, drawing a cold front over the state. Another west to southwesterly airstream is expected to follow the front with a trough approaching the west coast late Sunday.
