- A high pressure centre lies to the east of Tasmania, extending a ridge over the state. The ridge is then expected to slowly move eastwards during today as a cold front approaches from the west, nearing the west coast later Sunday. A low pressure centre is expected to develop on the front to the northwest of Tasmania later Sunday and during Monday, directing a trough over the state on Monday. The low centre is then expected to move over the southeast mainland on Monday and Tuesday, directing an easterly airstream over Tasmania.
