Gusty west to northwesterly winds flow over Tasmania today as a significant cold front crosses this afternoon and evening. A cold and gusty south to southwesterly stream is then expected to develop and persist through Friday, with a ridge to approach and move over Tasmania on Saturday and Sunday, bringing light winds and settled weather to the state. The ridge remains close to the east of Tasmania on Monday.
