A high pressure system over NSW extends a ridge over coastal waters. A broad low pressure trough is expected to form in the west on Thursday and track eastwards across the Bight on Friday before clearing to the east by Saturday. Following the trough, a series of cold fronts will pass across the southeast over the weekend.
