A high pressure system lies over NSW with a ridge extending into the east of the state. A weak trough will move over South Australian waters later today, settling over the far northeast tonight before clearing on Friday. A cold front will pass over the south during Friday afternoon with a southwesterly flow persisting through the weekend as a ridge of high pressure extends over northern parts of the state.
