A monsoon trough extends over the Cooktown waters. Tropical low 29U [994 hPa] in the northern Coral Sea is moving towards the northeast coast, drawing the monsoon trough south. Tropical low 29U will cross the coast between Cairns and Townsville today, moving further inland on the weekend.
