A ridge persists over the north Queensland waters, maintained by a high [1042 hPa] in the Great Australian Bight. A southeasterly wind surge will move into the north Queensland waters on Monday and travel north along the east coast, contracting to the northeast waters on Wednesday. The high will move across southeastern Australia on Tuesday and into the southern Coral Sea or northern Tasman Sea on Wednesday.
