A weakening ridge extends over the South Queensland waters from a high [1035 hPa] near New Zealand slowly moving eastwards. A weak trough is forecast to cross southeastern waters later on Tuesday into Wednesday. Another trough is then forecast to cross the South Queensland waters later on Thursday into Friday, with a strengthening ridge in its wake from a high passing to the south of Western Australia.
