A firm ridge of high pressure extends over the southern and central Queensland waters. A high [1022 hPa] over the southern Tasman Sea will linger for several days, maintaining the ridge. A low pressure system may form well off the central Queensland coast from Thursday, increasing swell about exposed waters.
