A cold front systems will cross Sydney Waters later today, with fresh to strong, gusty southerly winds and large powerful waves in its wake. Winds and waves will gradually ease from late Thursday onwards as a high pressure system moves across the state later in the week into the weekend, while extending a ridge across the coastal waters.
