- South to southwesterly winds as a trough lies north of Sydney Waters. A low pressure system developed over the northeastern part of the state and is forecast to move over the coastal waters of the Hunter or Mid North Coast during today and then will move offshore during the weekend, with fresh to strong south to southwesterly winds over the Sydney Waters in its wake. A high pressure system will build over Queensland later on in the weekend, turning winds westerly over Sydney Waters.
