A high pressure ridge extends over the state's north, while a trough has moved to the north of Sydney Waters, bringing a southerly change this morning. Winds will turn northerly later today through to Thursday as the trough weakens and another ridge drifts across the coastal waters. Then, a strong cold front is forecast to moves across Sydney Waters during the weekend, with a fresh southerly wind change in its wake.
