A low pressure system over the northern waters will deepen today, generating vigorous south to southeasterly winds and large and powerful waves along the northern and central parts of the coast. This low is forecast to move towards the coast this evening and weaken with another low deepening over the northern Tasman Sea on Sunday. These lows are forecast to move away to the east later Sunday and Monday.
